How to Choose Boardroom Furniture
When buying boardroom furniture there are many things to consider and the most important being style and functionality. Whether you want a classic and traditional feel or a crisp contemporary look - make sure that the chosen style reflects the company’s image.

In many offices the boardroom works as a meeting room for both external clients as well as team meetings for internal staff. Consider how many people the room needs to accommodate for and what shape table best fits into the interior. If you need to provide various set ups for a multi-functional room, this can be achieved by using modular or folding tables.

The boardroom is somewhere you should be able to feel proud of, so don’t clutter it up with untidy cables and messy clutter. Choose tables with smart cable management features and storage units with doors to hide away accessories, paperwork and books.

Finally, think about what Audio & Visual (AV) technology will be required and the display systems to house them. In finding the best arrangement consider reflection from windows and whether equipment should be on view or concealed when not in use.

Boardroom & Meeting Tables

The boardroom table is arguably the most important piece of furniture in a meeting or boardroom. There are so many designs out there that you should have no problem finding one that fits in with your chosen style, colour scheme and size. The size and shape of the table is determined by the size of your room and number of people that it needs to fit. For a comfortable set up you should have enough space around the table so that someone can walk behind a pushed back chair. If people frequently bring laptops in to the meeting room then consider a table with accommodating cable management.

Meeting & Boardroom Seating

The material of your meeting chair is usually determined by the style you want to create, although upholstered, leather and plastic chairs can be found in a range of styles and price tags. Comfort is of importance as you don’t want your team members or clients to be twisting and turning in their seats during a presentation – therefore select a chair with sufficient lumbar support. A chair with armrest is best for conference type meetings but armrests take up more space and could be in the way.

Boardroom storage

To ensure that the boardroom always appear clutter free and is ready for use put accessories and paperwork in storage units with doors. If space is limited maximum the available space by using narrow sideboards, wall units or a storage wall. The storage units can either match the boardroom table or for a more contemporary look choose a contrasting colour or material. Technical equipment can be integrated into a media wall or for a simplified set up a sideboard or A/V cart may be sufficient.

Classic Boardrooms

Many companies try to achieve a boardroom that somehow reflects the ambience of their business. For a traditional old English feel consider buying impressive antique pieces or save both time and money by choosing reproduction furniture. Reproduction furniture also has the advantage of combining the look and feel of the past but be equipped with modern features such as cable management. Oak furniture, or a darker wood, would also work well for a traditional boardroom look and consider upholstered seating in brown or green leathers.

Contemporary Boardrooms

It is easy to make a statement in your boardroom by choosing an impressive contemporary boardroom table. Although materials like glass and stainless steel may be associated with contemporary office furniture it is mainly the shapes and styles of tables and chairs that give them their modern feel. So whether you prefer wood or glass tables, leather or fabric chairs you are sure to find suitable contemporary styles.
